According to the details for the results 7621 candidates have a right to take further admission to the JKPSC combined competitive (Main) 2011 exams.

Chhattisgarh HC rejects Binayak Sen's bail application

NEW DELHI: The Chhattisgarh High Court on Thursday dismissed the bail application of civil rights activist Dr Binayak Sen, which the state government had opposed on the grounds of his links with the Maoists.

Sen is at present lodged in a jail in state capital Raipur following his sentencing to life term by a trial court on Dec 24 for sedition and over his links with Maoist ideologue Narayan Sanyal.

Additional Advocate General Kishore Bhaduri, representing the Chhattisgarh government, on Wednesday told the division bench of Justice T.P. Sharma and Justice R.L. Jhanwar, that Sen had strong links with the Maoists.

He said the seized documents and other evidence were sufficient for "not suspending the sentence awarded to him by the trial court".

"Sen is a doctor by profession. But during the search at his residence, we could not find the stethoscope, any medical paper or other materials that are usually found with doctors," the prosecution counsel argued.

"It's not just a simple case of a doctor engaged in social service," he told the court.

"The trial court has already convicted Sen on charges of sedition. The documents seized and the circumstances in totality qualify for the requirement for conviction on the charges of sedition," he said. 

SC to govt : Set up special court for 2G scam

NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Thursday asked the government to constitute a special court exclusively for dealing with 2G spectrum case.

The CBI will file the first chargesheet in 2G spectrum scam against former telecom minister A Raja and others under Prevention of Corruption Act (PCA) for cheating and forgery by March 31, the Supreme Court was told.

The apex court said it favours a CBI probe that also covers culpability of beneficiaries of the scam as they are part of larger conspiracy.
 

Aarushi murder case - CBI files closure report

New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) closed the Aarushi Talwar murder case, more than two-and-a-half years after the teenager was brutally murdered in Noida.

The closure report which was filed at a Ghaziabad court meant that all the three suspects in the case - Raj Kumar, Vijay Mandal and Krishna - will be set free. They are out on bail now.

A new team was constituted by the CBI to look into Aarushi case. The new investigation team could only recover Aarushi's mobile, which was put through forensic test but not much could be recovered.

The CBI in its closure case said the case has been damaged beyond repair and the crucial evidence handled badly.

Former laywer for Talwars was taken by surprise when he came to know that Aarushi case has been closed.

"Surprise that case has been closed. Haven''t seen content of the closure report, so wont be able to comment in detail," said former lawyer for Talwars Pinaki Mishra.

The Talwar family have decided to file an appeal against the closure report.

While speaking to media on Wednesday evening Talwars reacted, saying they are completely devastated and shocked with the news.

"Want justice for my daughter. We are broken parents today with the closure report," said Aarushi's mother Nupur Talwar.

Aarushi's father Rajesh Talwar said that CBI did not inform them about the closure of the case.

"I had requested the CBI to conduct DNA test from the spot of crime, but our request was not heeded. I got the news from TV channels that case has been closed, CBI didn't tell us about closure of the case. Whatever was asked to us, we did but don't know what CBI is doing," said Aarushi's father Rajesh Talwar.

"I am completely devastated, shocked. Don't know what to do. Aarushi has not got justice. We will continue to fight," said Rajesh Talwar.

On May 17, 2008: Aarushi Talwar, a 14-year-old school student and daughter of a dentist couple, was found dead with her throat slit in the bedroom of her flat in Jal Vayu Vihar in Noida. On the next day, domestic help Hemraj's body found on terrace of Talwar's residence. Former domestic help Vishnu Sharma was named as a suspect.

In a twist in the murder case, the Uttar Pradesh Police then arrested Arushi's father Rajesh Talwar on May 23, claiming they suspected this to be a case of honour killing,

The CBI which took over the probe, arrested Talwar's compounder Krishna on June 13.

Vijay Mondal, the domestic help of one of Talwar's neighbours was also later arrested by the CBI.

After spending 50 days in Jail, Rajesh Talwar was released. The arrest followed polygraph test and Narco Analysis test.
