The Result of Ayodhya verdict in the Ram Janambhoomi-Babri Masjid dispute will decide whether the 2.7 acres of disputed land on which the Babri Masjid stood before it was demolished on December 6, 1992, belongs to theSunni Central Waqf Board or to the Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha.

In the Supreme Court on Tuesday, Chief Justice of India HS Kapadia read out a one-line order to reject the petition of retired bureaucrat Ramesh Chand Tripathi, who had sought that the verdict be deferred and the matter be settled through reconciliation. Justice Kapadia said, “Having considered the detailed arguments advanced in this cases, we are of the view that the special leave petitions deserve to be dismissed.

The court heard arguments for over two-and-a-half hours before announcing its order. The decision of the three-judge bench – comprising Chief Justice Kapadia, Justice Aftab Alam and Justice KS Radhakrishnan – was unanimous.
The Centre has, meanwhile, appealed to people of the nation to keep calm once the judgement is announced. Both Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi have issued appeals

The Supreme Court on Thursday stayed for a week the Ayodhya title suit verdict that was due to be pronounced by Allahabad High Court on Friday and will hear the plea for deferment of the judgement next Tuesday.

The Court issued notices to the contesting parties on the petition filed by retired bureaucrat Ramesh Chand Tripathi challenging the order of the Lucknow Bench of Allahabad High Court order refusing to defer the verdict in the 60-year-old Ram Janambhoomi-Babri Masjid title suit dispute.

It posted the matter for further hearing on September 28.

NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Tuesday paved the way for the Allahabad High Court to give its verdict on the Ayodhya dispute, dismissing a petition that sought its postponement. 

The high court has decided to announce the verdict Sep 30 at 3.30 p.m. 

Former bureaucrat Ramesh Chandra Tripathi had filed the petition for deferring the high court verdict on the Babri Masjid-Ramjanmabhoomi title suit in Ayodhya till the end of the Commonwealth Games.

If you are amongst the few who still give a damn about Orkut, you might have noticed something fishy going on over the past few hours. A large number of users are randomly flooding their friend’s scrapbooks (Orkut’s equivalent of FacebookWall) with the following message:

It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that the “Bom Sabado!” messages are automatically generated by a script. However, it is not clear if this is simply a script exploiting vulnerability in Orkut, or have the accounts sending the automated scraps been compromised.

If you are amongst those affected, it’s highly recommended that you follow the steps highlighted below:

• Switch to the “older version” of Orkut.
• Log out of Orkut.
• Clean your browser’s cache and cookies.
• Log in and change your password and security question.

If you haven’t been affected yet, it is strongly advised that you avoid Orkut until the issue has been resolved. I managed to trigger the same exploit while researching this article. Recently other high profile websites like Twitter and YouTube also fell victim to XSS attacks.

Mahindra Satyam scrip on Wednesday rallied by 14.90 pc

IT firm Mahindra Satyam scrip on Wednesday rallied by 14.90 per cent to hit an eight-month high of Rs 109.45 at the Bombay Stock Exchange, as investors anticipated strong financial performance by the company for fiscal years 2008-09 and 2009-10.


Mahindra Satyam, formerly known as Satyam Computers, will be announcing its results on September 29. It had not published its financial results since its founder B Ramalinga Raju in January 2009 admitted to fudging the company’s accounts for years.

Indian Supreme Court orders Ayodhya mosque verdict postponed

(Reuters) - The Supreme Court on Thursday ordered the Allahabad High Court to delay a potentially explosive verdict on whether Hindus or Muslims own land around the demolished Babri mosque in Ayodhya.

The deferral of the verdict, which many fear could have sparked off religious riots, will be a relief for the government, which already has its hands full dealing with a rebellion in Kashmir and rushing against the clock to set right preparations for the Commonweath Games.

Allahabad High Court has issued guidelines for the media - keeping it away from the court on Sep 24, the judgement day on long-pending Babri Masjid-Ram Janmabhoomi dispute.  The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court will announce the verdict on Friday

 

The guidelines issued on Tuesday bars entry of media into the court room citing less space to accommodate a large number of people. Special measures will be taken to ensure that copies of the judgement are made available to the media within minutes of its pronouncement.
